Homes with our permanent soffit lights look amazing. Our L1GHTS are so bright, it is natural to ask yourself, “How much power are those things really using?” The answer? A lot less than you think.
Our L1GHTS by Home One product use only 0.96W per bulb, when set to bright white. Compare that with an incandescent C9 Christmas light bulb which rings in at an average of 7W and we are using 15% of the electricity. Now, we understand that there are also LED C9 bulbs available. On average, these test at 1.9 watts per bulb. So either way you look at it, our L1GHTS are still about twice as efficient than anything else you would put on your home.
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!!
C9 bulbs change colour with a different coloured plastic shell. The diode on the inside is always bright white and using maximum power consumption at all times. L1GHTS by Home One are only using 0.96 watts when they are on a cool bright white. We know from checking out our customers homes that this is an extremely rare situation. 250 nights a year customers are typically just using our permanent soffit lighting to accent their home with a traditional warm white, pot-light look. With an RGBW bulb, creating a nice warm, 2700K warm white, uses about ⅓ the power required to make a bright white. So, one would naturally think using that classy accent setting that they are only using ⅓ the electricity. That is also wrong, it is actually much less. The majority of our classy architectural accent presets have only a few bulbs powered at 100% brightness. In fact, our most popular preset, CLASSY, is 1 warm white bulb at 100% brightness, then 4 warm white bulbs dimmed down to .5% brightness. This means that only every 5th bulb is using approximately 0.35 watts. As for the bulbs dimmed to .5%, they are using virtually 0 electricity.
So as you can see, not only do L1GHTS by Home One make your home look amazing, but they do it at virtually no ongoing expenses that hit your monthly budget.
